Prof. Dr. Wendel Andrade Alves

Wendel Andrade Alves holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fundamental Chemistry from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (1999), and Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from the University of São Paulo (2001 and 2005, respectively). He carried out a doctoral research internship at the Università degli Studi di Pavia, Italy, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo, including a research internship at the Institut des Matériaux Jean Rouxel, France. He was also a Visiting Researcher at the University of Missouri, Columbia, USA, in 2014 and from 2023 to 2024. He is currently a Full Professor at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC) and a CNPq Research Productivity Fellow. His research focuses on supramolecular and polymeric nanomaterials, molecular interfaces, electrochemical biosensors, functional nanocomposites, and microneedle-based analytical and therapeutic platforms. He currently coordinates the FAPESP Thematic Project “Point-of-Care Technologies Based on Microneedles to Improve Healthcare Testing and Treatments” (Grant No. 2022/14753-0).
